A bit dark view of Saint-Petersburg :) at 1:29 you can’t see a Cubahostel because of gorgeous Cazan’ Cathedral.

The Summer Garden is opening at 27th of May, which is also the day the Peter and Paul fortress foundation was laid.

The park, first conceived by Peter in 1704, was originally designed in a Petrine Baroque style by the Dutch gardener and physician Nicolaas Bidloo.[1] Starting from 1712, the planting of the Summer Garden was further elaborated by the Dutch gardener Jan Roosen, who was the chief gardener of the park till 1726. The well-known French architect Jean-Baptiste Le Blond, who arrived in St. Petersburg in 1716, added to the park the flavour of a Garden à la française. The Summer Garden was largely completed in 1719. The walks were lined with a hundred allegorical marble sculptures, executed by Francesco Penso, Pietro Baratta, Marino Gropelli, Alvise Tagliapietra, Bartolomeo Modulo and other Venetian sculptors that were acquired by Sava Vladislavich. In the late 20th century, 90 surviving statues were moved indoors, while modern replicas took their place in the park.

Mac Miller - Up All Night

On February 14th, 2012, the State Hermitage Museum was home to the opening of a new exhibit from the collection of the National Gallery, London, entitled the Annunciation with St. Emidius, which continues the series of exhibits entitled Masterpieces from the World’s Museums in the Hermitage.

The Annunciation with St. Emidius, the most famous work by the 15th century Venetian artist Carlo Crivelli (1430/35-1495?), is presented in the Hermitage in gratitude for the exposition of the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece Madonna Litta from the museum’s collection at the exhibit entitled Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan in the National Gallery, London.
